Thank you for visiting my research page! This may seem uncommon to view pictures of how an author comes up with unique story ideas. But I’m confident enough to share at least one trade secret. For years I’ve been told that I freely associate in conversation, where one topic blends into other related topics. Now I’ve found a way to put this pattern to good use. When Google searching for material, at times for hours, I’ll discover unusual and interesting ideas for characters, scenes and plots, where they can be rearranged to create new combinations. The key is to determine which combination builds the best characters, plots, scenes and most of all—tension. Google searches can bring up some peculiar articles that I would never have expected. That just makes my process even more interesting to me!
