Entertaining parrots are a major attraction
at Parmer's Resort in Little Torch Key.
We always enjoyed talking to Fred, Jaws, and Leo.

The Lower Keys - Little Torch, Big Pine

Parmer's sign was lit every night like a Christmas tree  When you visit the Keys, we enthusiastically recommend
staying at Parmer's Resort in Little Torch Key. While we
were there, the entire place was decked out for Christmas
and New Years, with lights draped on palm trees and fences.
(Notice the star on the marina pavilion, below right).

Parmer's Parrots, Key Deer

Parmer's Resort had an uncommon attraction... parrot cages
filled with African Greys, Australian and South American parrots,
as well as several Cockatiels and the occasional parakeet.

Little Torch Key is right next door to Big Pine Key, which is world
famous for their tiny deer (2 ft. high).  The deer are so habituated to
tourists and onlookers, it is no wonder they barely move out of the way
when you stop and approach them.

Below is a photo sampling of Parmer's and some Key Deer.

separated by the South Pine Channel. Big Pine is famous for it's tiny deer.
